Student Elective Opportunities

Information for those considering a student elective

Since much of the work of the Cochrane Schizophrenia Group is to identify all relevant research to the care of people with schizophrenia, it is not difficult to construct important but time-limited projects for students who visit.

There has been a regular link between the Cochrane Schizophrenia Group (CSG) editorial base in Nottingham (UK) and the Academy of Medical Documentation in Ulm (Germany) since Margareta Langer and Dorothea Neumann worked with us in 1996. Since then, many projects have been completed and published by students from the Academy of Medical Documentation in Ulm as a result of their work with us whilst on exchange at the editorial base.

Helpful Qualities / Skills

There are no specific qualities or skills that are necessary for students to possess - except a reasonable working knowledge of English. However, some computer and database skills are helpful. Mostly what is needed is common sense, the will to learn, the ability to get on with people and to have fun.

If you are interested in working with the CSG for an elective or want more information - just contact us.
